Recchia Masùa di Jago Amarone della Valpolicella Classico 2018
Amarone della Valpolicella DOCG Classico by Recchia winery is a great structure, notably complex red wine: it is the symbol of Valpolicella noted and appreciated in the whole world. The grapes are harvested on the highest slopes of the Valpolicella vallies. The grapes are slowly dried, then softly pressed and left on the lees to obtain the full colour. The wine is matured in oak barrels and then left to age in the bottle. A unique wine perfect for those special occasions.
How is the wine made?
The grapes are harvested by hand in September and let wither until they have lost the 35-
40% of their original weight.
Wine making: De-stemming and soft pressing of the grapes in December.
The maceration lasts 5-10 days in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks 5-10o C. The fermentation is traditional and lasts 15-20 days.
Ageing: 4 months in stainless steel tanks. 24 months in French oak barrels
Ageing in bottle: 4 months aged in the bottle
About the winery
For over a hundred years the Recchia family have been master wine makers. For many generations the family has lived in the heart of Valpolicella in the valley of Negrar.
The latest technology has been incorporated into the traditions to improve the quality of the wine. Advanced technology, retail tasting and global exporting have become a way of life as well as a philosophy for the family for doing business.
The varieties are time-honoured favourites: Corvina, Rondinella and Molinara and together they form the soul of Recchia wines whether Valpolicella Classico and Superiore or the peerless Amarone and Recioto.
