Elio Filippino Gavi 2022
Gavi DOCG by Elio Filippino winery in Piedmont is a classical beloved Gavi with a fruity bouquet with hints of daisy and acacia flowers. Citrus notes can be detected on the palate. This dry white wine has a distinctive full, fresh and elegant taste and is excellent when served with fish or white meat.
How is the wine made?
The grapes are delicately pressed and the stalks are removed. The
must ferments in stainless steel vats at a controlled temperature of 18°–20°C for about
20 days. After fermentation, the wine is kept in stainless steel vats until the bottling.
About the winery
Elio Filippino winery is located in the picturesque village of Neive in Piedmont wine region. Elio is the third generation of winemaker of the estate, continuing his family’s tradition of superior winemaking while maintaining the greatest respect for the environment.
His philosophy is to produce the highest quality wines with respect to the unique nature of native vines and the character of the terroir. Elio argues that “true quality comes from the vineyard, which does its best to produce excellent quality grapes.”
Elio produces the wines that are quintessentially of Langhe terroir: Dolcetto d’Alba, Barbera d’Alba, Nebbiolo, Barbaresco, Barbaresco Reserva and Barolo, as well as the white wines: Moscato d’Asti, Gavi and Langhe Arneis.
