From the heart of the Franciacorta hills, Brut Santus was born. A brut unlike any other thanks to the late harvest which has allowed it to obtain ripe grapes, to enhance the wonderful terroir from where they arrive, capturing the essence of the wonderful place that is Franciacorta.

Harvested exclusively by hand the grapes, 80% Chardonnay and the remaining 20% Pinot Noir, are then transferred to wood winemaking, with a long stay on the lees to create a better and superior class Italian ‘champagne’.

Franciacorta – Santus

In 1995, agronomists Maria Luisa Santus and Gianfranco Pagano took up the challenge of devoting themselves full-time to winegrowing in the Franciacorta region. Their goal was to produce exclusively Franciacorta wine.

In the space of three years, they planted about 60.000 vines over an area of 10 hectares and they now take personally care of vineyard management.
The Santus philosophy is based on a firm belief that a small wine grower’s mission must be to protect nature’s diversity and its many nuances, by rejecting standardization in any form.

In order to emphasize the strong vine-climate-terroir bond, no cuvée wines are produced and only single-vintage wines are bottled.

Santus Franciacorta selection includes Franciacorta Brut (Chardonnay & Pinot Noir blend), Saten (100% Chardonnay), Rose (100% Pinot Noir), Dosaggiozero (‘0’ added sugar, the driest of the range), and the cru wine ‘Essenza’.

A perfect wine if you like champagne!

  2. 5 out of 5

    Fabrizio

Bright pale gold, notes of wildflowers, aromatic herbs and a base of sweet citrus and vanilla. The mouth is dynamic and savoury, with a lean and dry finish that invites you to start over.

    Andrea

Beautiful very bright golden yellow, with a fine and persistent perlage. On the nose it shows good freshness, fragrant, with floral and fruity notes of wildflowers, yellow and exotic fruit, citrus notes, grass clippings and memories of pastry and bread crust. In the mouth it is balanced, fresh and richly mineral, with good softness and easy and persuasive to drink. Discreetly along the finish, which leaves the palate pleasantly clean and eager for a second sip. Great to accompany the whole meal.
