£19.95
Rosso di Montepulciano ‘Petaso’ by Montemercurio winery is an Italian red wine with its own identity and story. It is the result of a selection of grapes in the new Sangiovese Vineyard and a little percentage of Merlot fermented with great care to exalt drinkability and agreeableness.
Rosso di Montepulciano is aged in big oak casks as tradition requires. This wine can be kept for many years and can accompany many typical Tuscan dishes.

Tuscany – Montemercurio
During the Roman Empire the town of Montepulciano was called Montemercurio and this is where this estate derives its name from. Mercurio was known as the messenger of the Greek gods and a temple to him was dedicated nearby.
Montemercurio makes 4 main wines: a white ‘Caduceo’ (a blend of Malvasia, white canaiolo, and local almost extinct pulcinculo), Tedicciolo (a blend of Sangiovese and Merlot), Rosso Di Montepulciano ‘Petaso’, two Nobile di Montepulciano: ‘Messaggero’ and ‘Damo’ (grand cru of the winery), and a unique VinSanto vintaged 1990/1992.
The winery is certified organic and every effort is made to make the wines as natural as possible.

Authentic Sangiovese with hints of dried flowers and red berries, black cherry, pepper and light vegetable aromas. Perfect when paired with roasts such as pork, hare, pheasant and semi-mature pecorino cheeses.
John –
Intense ruby, rich in tannins with a firm sip. Dry, prevailing cherry with a light note of vanilla in the finish. Olfactory sensations develop in the mouth.
Renata –
Ruby with garnet reflections, broad floral bouquet, on the palate good balance a pleasant acidity remains. Gustatory hints reminiscent of tobacco. An excellent drink!
Valerio –
Nice ruby ‚red, dry on the palate but with good persistence, slightly acidic but with an aftertaste of red fruits and cherry, tasted with tagliolino with porcini and aged Tuscan pecorino ….
