ROSSO di San Giovenale Magnum San Giovenale NV

ROSSO di San Giovenale is the second wine created by Emanuale Pangrazi and Marco Casolanetti (the winemaker of Kurni) in Blera area nearby Viterbo, Lazio, in the vineyard with 11,000 vines per hectare planted. It is a ‘small brother’ of HABEMUS and is literally made as a blend from the casks where wine has been ageing for HABEMUS before being blended and bottled. As HABEMUS, Rosso is a unique blend of international grapes: grenache, syrah, carignane; and tempranillo in the later vintages. The wine is powerful, with dense and rich fruit, yet it’s fresh and vibrant. Lots of chalk and sea salt character. Full body, firm and silky textured tannins. Long, long finish.

San Giovenale

San Giovenale winery was created by Emanuele Pangrazi, a Roman by origin and passionate about his territory and the wine.

Together with a famous enologist Marco Casolanetti (who created Kurni for Oasi degli Angeli) he decided to plant vineyards in Blera area nearby Viterbo.

In 2010 the first vintage of HABEMUS (meaning ‘we have it’) was produced – the only wine created by the winery – a blend di grenache, syrah and carignan. The wine is aged for 20 months in French barrique and the average production is 7000 bottles per annum.
