Profumo di Vulcano
£55.00 £44.00
Profumo di Vulcano by Federico Graziani originates in a small vineyard that dates back to the late nineteenth century. The vineyard is just about one-half hectare of land on the northern slopes of Mount Etna at 600 meters above sea level. The wine is transparent vivid ruby red. It offers rich aromas of blackcurrant, blueberry and raspberry to the nose, followed by citrus notes and ends on warm spicy notes of sandalwood and tobacco. There are persistent hints of aromatic herbs such as marjoram, caper and thyme. It is it but not too rounded to the palate, with decisive lively hints of tannin; the finish is complex and lasting, with a big personality. Suggested to pair with roast suckling pig, roast game birds and mature cheeses made with raw milk. Profumo di Vulcano matures 30 months in French barrique and 12 months in the bottle.

Profumo di Vulcano
Profumo di Vulcano is a project and the wine created by Federico Graziani – the AIS Italy’s Best Sommelier 1988 and a professional sommelier having worked in some of the finest restaurants and hotels in Europe.
This small vineyard is situated in Contrada Feudo di Mezzo at Passopisciaro, and lies on the northern slope of Mount Etna. Located at 700 metres above sea level, the vineyard is sheltered from sirocco winds and has a daily temperature range of about 28°C in September. This gives the grapes longer time to mature on the vine and develop additional complexities.

… it is worth tasting this wine to understand through its organoleptic characteristics the earth, the air, the humidity, the daily and seasonal temperature changes of its area of origin … an excellent product …
Maksim –
Great Sicilian wine, full of fruit and soil. As soon as it is opened it seems edgy but then opens with excellent aromas. Always good. Recommended despite the not friendly price.

You can feel the roses of the Feudo di Mezzo, the pungent dusty, a sweet note and a lively tannin … this is Etna, this is its wine
