Nebbiolo Low Histamines Veglio 2019
£18.75
Langhe Nebbiolo Low Histamines is a certified ‘Low Histamines Wine’ – containing less than 0.5mg/litre Histamines. Created by the winery Veglio Michelino specifically for those who are sensitive to Histamines.
This Italian red wine is made from 100% Nebbiolo, one of the most important Italian grapes.
The scent is delicately fruity with floral notes and the taste is dry, tannic and fruity. It goes perfectly with traditional Piedmont dishes, such as Tajarin traditional local pasta, agnolotti, roast meats, boiled meats and typical cheeses.
The name, Nebbiolo, derives from the term ‘fog’ (in Italian fog means ‘nebbia’), referring to the fog that surrounds the vineyards in the period of harvest, or perhaps to the appearance of berries, “clouded” by the abundant bloom that covers them. The wine is refined in stainless steel barrels and for 4 months in the bottle.

Piemonte – Veglio Michelino
Veglio Michelino and Figlio is a small, family-owned and run vineyard located in the beautiful Piedmont region in north-western Italy. The winery produces red and white wines using traditional techniques inherited from previous generations and a selection of Low Histamines wines.
Low Histamines wines are the wines that contain no more than 0.5 mg of histamine per litre. This result is achieved by using grapes that naturally have lower histamine levels and ageing the wine in stainless steel tanks instead of wood. Due to a lower content of histamines, the wines can be drunk by people who are allergic to histamines and develop allergy or intolerance symptoms after drinking red wine.
Currently Veglio Michelino & Figlio makes 5 Low Histamines wines: the white Chardonnay Low Histamines and 4 reds – Barbera d’Alba, Dolcetto d’Alba, Dolcetto Diano d’Alba and Nebbiolo d’Alba.
