£29.75

Favinia La Muciara is an intriguing dry white wine coming from the vineyards in the island of Faviniana, where almost no vineries grow vines. A blend of Zibibbo, Grillo and Catarratto, the wine is elegant and complex, with nuances of orange blossom, linden and elderberry interwoven with scents of ginger, lavender and thyme.

The palate is soft and mouth filling with the entry that unfolds with quiet authority, revealing a pleasant and vibrant acidity wrapped in elegant aromatic notes combined with an uncommon tanginess and minerality from the sea.

Characteristics: the distinctiveness vineyard of Calamoni makes Favinia la Muciara a unique wine. This blend of grapes which grow close to the Mediterranean Sea enchants and fascinates from the first instant. Admirable aromatic bouquet.

Only 4,000 bottles produced per annum.

Pale straw yellow, very intense and complex nose, floral notes of broom and orange blossom. Honey, tree fruits, minerals and a hint of salt spray make this a very individual wine.

This was a nice surprise! A very interesting blend of three grapes, floral due to Zibibbo but almost salty from the vicinity of the vineyard to the ocean in Favignana. In the mouth golden apple and citrus fruit, very soft, just sapidity and acidity.
A blend of local grapes such as Grillo, that proved to handle the years in bottle greatly. Good value as well.
