Straw yellow in colour, aromatic on the nose with notes of rose petals and Muscat. Velvety, aromatic and warm on the mouth. It gives the best results if it is aged at least one year in bottle.
Goes well with exotic dishes, fish with strongly flavoured sauces.
The origins of this grape have to be found in Central Europe. The colour of the skin is actually pink, but we obtain a white wine. Gewürztraminer is not an easy grape to grow, the yields are poor, and it is very mutant, as there are many different clones.
Determining the optimum moment for picking is crucial in order to obtain maximum sugar concentration in the grapes without losing the variety’s aromatic qualities. Once the berries are de-stemmed and crushed, the mass is chilled and the juice is kept in contact with the skins for a short period, in order to enrich it with varietal aromas . The fermentation takes place at constant temperature of 17-19°C. About 5% of the juice is fermented in barrel. The wine is aged on the fine lees for a few weeks to exalt its aromatic character.

It was in 1956 when 11 Trentino farmers combined forces to create the Cantina Sociale in their city with an objective defending and promoting the area and its products thanks to the union of those who live and work in the area every day.
The original idea was a winner and the increase in the number of members and the quantity of grapes produced and delivered bears witness to this fact.
The vineyards that cover an area of 650 hectares are the “garden” of Trento. The rolling hills that surround the ancient city of Tridentum are the privileged place the grapes of Cantina Sociale Trento grow.
Cantina Sociale Trento makes wines from traditional local grape varieties: Riesling, Muller Thurgau, Lagrein, Teroldego, Gewurztraminer, Marzemino etc.
