Emilia – Romagna – Zerbina
Today the winery cultivates traditional grapes of Emilia Romagna including Sangiovese (accounts for 80% of the red grapes planted in the vineyard), Albana and a small quantity of Cabernet.
Zerbina adopted traditional approach of new vineyards planted in a classic bush-vine training system with high vine densities and at the same time using innovative approach with different clones of Sangiovese and the technique of “noble rot” for the desert wine.
The turning point for the quality of Zerbina wines arrived in 1987 when Cristina Geminiani, the granddaughter of Vincenzo and the current owner of the estate, decided to take charge of operations and focus her attention on achieving major improvement of, and an increased public recognition for, the wines made from Sangiovese and Albana grapes.

A unique dessert wine! It reminded me of French Sautern I tried on one of the trips to Bordeaux. So fresh and delicious!
